Police rescued a swan from the M1 in another Hot Fuzz-style moment after a cygnet was escorted from a city centre.
The runaway bird caused traffic chaos after landing on the busy road near Nottingham last week.
Officers found the bird waddling in the road and managed to capture it more easily than Simon Pegg and Nick Frost’s characters in the 2007 comedy film.
The swan was then given a ride in the police car and returned to a nearby lake at Attenborough Nature Reserve in Nottingham.
It comes after a cygnet was escorted by police from Bath city centre, where officers used their jackets to guide the bird back towards the river, much to the amusement of locals on the streets.

Comical images show a male officer grappling with the swan and wrapping it in his hi-vis jacket, and another of the bird in the footwell of the back passenger seat.
In a post on X, Nottinghamshire Police said: ‘Our officers weren’t swanning about last week when a swan needed rescuing from the M1.
‘It was the swan’s turn for a ride in a police car, but thankfully it was heading to much sunnier climes than a custody suite.
‘The swan was returned to the Attenborough Nature Reserve.’
The incident drew comparisons with the 2007 film featuring hapless police officers played by Simon Pegg and Nick Frost.
Responding to descriptions of a suspect with a ‘long, slender neck’, the movie duo grappled with their own escaped swan in the fictional town of Sandford, supposedly in rural Gloucestershire, before driving it away in their patrol car.
One web user commented ‘Hot fuzz vibes lol.’ while another added: ‘All for the greater good.’
Others posted several Hot Fuzz memes with another person quoting the police comedy film and writing: ‘It was just the one swan, actually.’
It comes after a cygnet caused a flap among shoppers when it wandered into the middle of Bath on Sunday afternoon.
Three officers in Bath escorted a lost cygnet from Bath city centre back to the river, much to the confusion and amusement of locals watching on the street

Locals were baffled as the cygnet was seen strolling past a cafe and shops.
Simon Galloway, 59, said: ‘I was just out shopping with my wife and daughter, and we noticed a bit of commotion outside the shop.
‘That was when we saw a cygnet being escorted down the street, presumably down to the river.
‘There were loads of shoppers around, everyone had their phones out, laughing. A few dog walkers seemed quite amused, too.’
Police were swiftly called to the incident in Bath, where they found the swan and a crowd of concerned locals, who had reportedly wrapped the distressed animal up.
After placing it in the back seat of their car, the officers drove the animal to the vet..
