Britain's loneliest dog is hoping for a new home this Christmas after spending over 600 days in kennels. Zeke, a nine-year-old crossbreed, first arrived at the RSPCA in April last year and has been waiting for a forever home ever since.

Despite being moved from Leicester to Bawtry, South Yorkshire, there's been little interest in adopting him. Staff are worried he'll spend his second Christmas at the charity.

RSPCA team leader Daniel Cartwright said: "He's a sweet, older gentleman who thinks he's a lap dog and he absolutely loves fuss and affection."

Zeke loves walks, playing with toys, and eating treats. Cartwright added: "He really is the perfect dog, and his new family will be rewarded with a great sofa snuggler and a wonderful companion."

He admitted they're puzzled as to why Zeke is being overlooked, suggesting his age or the current financial climate might be factors.

Described as 'extremely affectionate', Zeke is always quick to come over for a cuddle.

He's now looking for a calm place where he can be the only furry friend and with kids who are 16 or older.
