The Waleses are spotted visiting \u00a347,000-a-year Marlborough College for the second time in two months<\/h1>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>The Princess of Wales and Prince George recently toured Marlborough College\u00a0<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>Speculation that the Prince will not follow his father to Eton College is growing<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>Princess of Wales attended Marlborough and is said to have flourished there\u00a0<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>It has an illustrious reputation for schooling the elite \u2013 including Princes William and Harry \u2013 but Eton College may not be able to count Prince George among its future pupils.<\/p>\n<p>Speculation is growing that the second in line to the throne will, instead, follow in his mother&#8217;s footsteps, and be educated at Marlborough College in Wiltshire.<\/p>\n<p>The Princess of Wales has recently toured the \u00a347,000-a-year co-educational school for the second time in as many months \u2013 this time accompanied by her husband and ten-year-old George.<\/p>\n<p>Kate is said to not be a fan of single-sex schools like Eton, and reportedly &#8216;absolutely hated&#8217; her time at Downe House, an all-girls boarding school in Berkshire, where she was allegedly targeted by bullies.<\/p>\n<p>However she flourished at Marlborough, where she excelled academically and performed well at sports, including hockey and tennis.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/i.dailymail.co.uk\/1s\/2023\/12\/16\/19\/79041157-12872215-image-a-1_1702755013227.jpg\" height=\"1268\" width=\"634\"><\/p>\n<p>The Princess of Wales recently toured Marlborough College for the second time, but this accompanied by her husband and ten-year-old George<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/i.dailymail.co.uk\/1s\/2023\/12\/16\/19\/79041253-12872215-image-m-4_1702755044445.jpg\" height=\"411\" width=\"634\"><\/p>\n<p>It is understood that no firm decision has yet been made on whether George will attend Marlborough College, which costs\u00a0\u00a347,000-a-year<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/i.dailymail.co.uk\/1s\/2023\/12\/16\/19\/79041229-12872215-image-a-3_1702755041973.jpg\" height=\"501\" width=\"634\"><\/p>\n<p>The Princess of Wales is said to not be a fan of single-sex institutions and flourished once she was sent to Marlborough, where she performed well at sports, including hockey<\/p>\n<p>Although it is understood that no firm decision has yet been made about what school George will attend, the Princess took him and William to her alma mater on December 1, having previously visited alone in October.<\/p>\n<p>They also all toured Eton back in June. The college, which is a stone&#8217;s throw from Windsor Castle, provided a haven for William and Harry, who boarded there during the most turbulent years of Prince Charles and Princess Diana&#8217;s marriage.<\/p>\n<p>But while William found solace there after his mother&#8217;s death, Harry lamented in his memoir Spare that it was not the right choice for him.<\/p>\n<p>George is currently at co-educational prep school, Lambrook, along with his sister Princess Charlotte, eight, and five-year-old brother Prince Louis. Close to the home of their Middleton grandparents, it educates pupils up to the age of 13, meaning George will have to move on in 2026.<\/p>\n<p>But if he continues at a mixed-sex school like Marlborough, he could later be joined by his siblings. The Princess of Wales was similarly educated alongside her younger sister, Pippa, and brother James.<\/p>\n<p>Founded in 1843, Marlborough&#8217;s former pupils also include Princess Eugenie, Lady (Samantha) Cameron and comedian Jack Whitehall.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/i.dailymail.co.uk\/1s\/2023\/12\/16\/19\/79041467-12872215-image-a-7_1702755690076.jpg\" height=\"476\" width=\"634\"><\/p>\n<p>The Princess of Wales&#8217; family also toured Eton in June, which educated William and Harry<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/i.dailymail.co.uk\/1s\/2023\/12\/16\/19\/79041363-12872215-image-a-5_1702755387633.jpg\" height=\"446\" width=\"634\"><\/p>\n<p>George, 10, currently attends Lambrook School, near Ascot, which teaches pupils up to the age of 13. It is thought that if he attends Marlborough, all his siblings could later follow him<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/i.dailymail.co.uk\/1s\/2023\/12\/16\/19\/79041425-12872215-image-a-6_1702755539512.jpg\" height=\"951\" width=\"634\"><\/p>\n<p>Princess Eugenie previously attended Marlborough College. She was the first female member of the Royal Family to attend the school<\/p>\n<p>Prince George started at Lambrook last year and is currently in Year 6. He has recently been sitting exams that could influence his future education.<\/p>\n<p>In October, Kate revealed that she had been helping him prepare, telling pupils at a secondary school in Cardiff: &#8216;George is just at the beginning of being tested. He says, &#8216;Mummy, I keep getting tested all the time.&#8217;\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Last month, the Princess missed Prince William&#8217;s Earthshot Prize ceremony in Singapore to further support George during his exams.<\/p>\n<p>On the same day as the visit to Marlborough College, the trio enjoyed a low-key lunch at Tray&#8217;s Cafe at nearby Barrs Yard in Hungerford with their security detail hovering nearby.
