Arbitrum\u2019s block explorer, Arbiscan, shows that some blocks are being produced. However, they appear to be only processing two transactions in each block.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/s3.cointelegraph.com\/uploads\/2023-12\/b4b639d1-2d3a-43c2-a359-152735ac0063.png\"><\/p>\n<p>Some users took to X (Twitter) to\u00a0speculate\u00a0about whether the outage was caused by inscriptions, as this would explain the small number of transactions in each block. However, this has not been confirmed by the team. Inscriptions are a type of data format used in some blockchain networks and are often used to carry collectible images. Inscriptions originated on Bitcoin but have recently been used on Arbitrum thanks to the MemeOrdi protocol.<\/p>\n<p>On Arbitrum\u2019s official Discord server, community admin Ricardo Gordon announced that the team is \u201cworking to resolve this as quickly as possible and will provide a post-mortem soon.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/s3.cointelegraph.com\/uploads\/2023-12\/56c0b9f9-2660-4d4d-83a4-71b71ac6dfc0.png\"><\/p>\n<p>According to blockchain analytics platform Layer2Beat, users of Abitrum can\u00a0withdraw\u00a0their assets to Ethereum even if the sequencer is down, although this will take 24 hours to process.
