<\/p>\nThe latest eerie development in the world of artificial intelligence has been unveiled by Elon Musk \u2013 who says his new chatbot has a \u201crebellious streak\u201d and will answer \u201cspicy\u201d questions that other chatbots won\u2019t.<\/p>\n
Musk, the boss of X (formerly Twitter), SpaceX and Tesla, has unveiled \u201cGrok\u201d, which is his rival to ChatGPT. It was only last week that Musk himself raised concerns over the future of AI, which he described as \u201cone of the biggest threats to humanity\u201d.<\/p>\n
But he\u2019s now announced that premium members who subscribe to X will be able to use Grok once testing is complete \u2013 and that it has access to posts on the social-media platform.<\/p>\n

Unveiling news about Grok, Musk reposted a tweet from xAI \u2013 his new artificial intelligence company.<\/p>\n
It read: \u201cGrok is an AI modelled after The Hitchhiker\u2019s Guide to the Galaxy, so intended to answer almost anything and, far harder, even suggest what questions to ask! Grok is designed to answer questions with a bit of wit and has a rebellious streak, so please don\u2019t use it if you hate humour!<\/p>\n

\u201cA unique and fundamental advantage of Grok is that it has real-time knowledge of the world via the X platform. It will also answer spicy questions that are rejected by most other AI systems.<\/p>\n
\u201cGrok is still a very early beta product \u2013 the best we could do with 2 months of training \u2013 so expect it to improve rapidly with each passing week with your help.\u201d<\/p>\n
According to xAI, Grok will have new capabilities and features rolled out over the coming months.<\/p>\n

Musk was a co-founder of OpenAI, which is the company behind ChatGPT, but he quit that project in 2018.<\/p>\n
Recently he has spoken about his concerns about the future of AI and earlier this year he backed a call from many experts for a pause in its development.<\/p>\n
And at the recent AI summit hosted by prime minister Rishi Sunak, Musk said: \u201cFor the first time, we have a situation where there\u2019s something that is going to be far smarter than the smartest human.\u201d<\/p>\n
