CryptoKicks accepts Bitcoin (BTC), Ether (ETH) and stablecoins like Tether (USDT). According to Blake, most customers who purchase sneakers with crypto are brand new to blockchain. \u201c\u2018I\u2019ve probably only had about one or two people who were already into crypto, but everyone else has kind of been new to it, and we\u2019ve got them into it,\u201d he told co-hosts Jonathan DeYoung and Ray Salmond. The life of a 13-year-old crypto entrepreneur<\/h2>\n
Blake, himself, was orange-pilled by his older brother. \u201cHe\u2019s into crypto a lot, and he\u2019s like, \u2018We could do something crazy here. \u2018You start your company and put crypto in the name, and people are going to go crazy for it.\u2019 And we\u2019ve done it, and it\u2019s worked out pretty good.\u201d<\/p>\n
At 13 years old, Blake is still in school, where the opinions of other students are mixed when it comes to crypto. \u201cPeople ask me, like, \u2018What is crypto?\u2019 Because not many people actually know about it,\u201d he explained. \u201cAnd then you\u2019ve got some people who do know about it, and they\u2019re like, \u2018It\u2019s a good thing.\u2019 But I\u2019ve also got some people who are like, \u2018Oh, I don\u2019t believe in crypto. It\u2019s a load of rubbish.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n
But Blake is doing his best to spread awareness among his classmates:<\/p>\n
\u201cI just say like, \u2018I think crypto is good.\u2019 Like it\u2019s a new way of payment [that] not a lot of people know about. You can get money instant, and it\u2019s like good fun as well, having a bit of crypto, sending it around, that stuff.\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
