A man’s rotting body was found inside a chimney at a Nebraska apartment a month after neighbors heard mysterious screams.\u00a0<\/p>\n
The body has been identified as Zachariah Andrews, 29, who was discovered on October 19 at 1414 S 3rd Street in Norfolk.\u00a0<\/p>\n
A maintenance man who was investigating a suspicious odor coming from the building’s chimney became concerned when he saw what looked like a shoe dangling from it.\u00a0<\/p>\n
Captain Michael Bauer said that Andrews was identified as the man in the chimney by his scars, marks, tattoos and identification card found on him.\u00a0<\/p>\n

It is unclear how he got in the chimney (pictured) and just how long he was in there.\u00a0His body was found after a maintenance man was investigating a suspicious odor coming from the building’s chimney and said he saw what looked like a human’s shoe dangling out of it<\/p>\n

The Norfolk Police Department had repeatedly been at the apartment after residents in the building complained of loud screams, and when a parking ticket was placed on his car<\/p>\n
Andrews’ body was removed from the chimney by the local police and fire department, with Platte Valley Media Group first reporting the discovery.\u00a0<\/p>\n
He was last seen on September 15, and the next day police received a call from a tenant inside the apartment building that claimed they heard unknown screams.<\/p>\n
The tenant told police they heard a man yelling for help\u00a0for about three to four minutes, but it stopped just before two officers arrived.<\/p>\n
Police found a loud television when they checked one of the apartments before they told the tenant to call back if the yelling returned.<\/p>\n
On September 20, police were back at the apartment again after a parking ticket\u00a0 was placed on Andrews’ vehicle, which was right in front of the building he was found in.\u00a0<\/p>\n
He was officially reported missing on October 3, the same day the Madison County Sherriff’s office issued a warrant for his arrest on seven counts of violating a protection order.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Andrews was previously charged in 2018 for allegedly trying to entice a 12-year-old girl over Facebook.\u00a0He was also charged with resisting arrest when he kicked police officers as they tried to arrest him for assaulting a man in April of last year<\/p>\n
Over the past several months Andrews kept posting to his Facebook in an attempt to reach out to an unidentified woman,\u00a0The New York Post reported.\u00a0<\/p>\n
Several of his friends told him to ‘let her go’ and one advised him to ‘remember what he learned in treatment’.\u00a0It is unclear what treatment he participated in.<\/p>\n
Andrews claimed cops had looked through his love letters to her before telling him his goals of being with her weren\u2019t realistic, according to reports.\u00a0<\/p>\n
‘I kinda wanna prove them wrong tho,’ he reportedly wrote in May.<\/p>\n
He was charged with resisting arrest when he kicked police officers as they tried to arrest him for assaulting a man in April of last year.\u00a0<\/p>\n
Andrews’ friend Josh Isenbart posted about his death on Facebook and said:\u00a0‘I couldn’t image how you were feeling being trapped but now you are free my brotha, free in gods [sic] hands! Spread your wings angel.<\/p>\n

On September 16 police were called to the apartment building after a tenant heard a man yelling for help. Bauer said that the two officers that responded were told the screaming lasted for about three to four minutes but stopped just before authorities arrived<\/p>\n

The New York Post reported that over the past several months Andrews kept posting to his Facebook in an attempt to reach out to an unidentified woman. Several of his friends told him to ‘let her go’ and one advised him to ‘remember what he leaned in treatment’<\/p>\n
‘I’ll cherish every day that I did have with you there until we meet again my friend, you are no longer suffering and are now in the best place you can be.’<\/p>\n
