{"id":194074,"date":"2023-09-24T13:07:44","date_gmt":"2023-09-24T13:07:44","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/tokenstalk.info\/?p=194074"},"modified":"2023-09-24T13:07:44","modified_gmt":"2023-09-24T13:07:44","slug":"judy-murray-said-she-fixed-grammar-of-former-strictly-partners-book","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/tokenstalk.info\/world-news\/judy-murray-said-she-fixed-grammar-of-former-strictly-partners-book\/","title":{"rendered":"Judy Murray said she fixed grammar of former Strictly partner&apos;s book"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2>Judy Murray reveals she corrected the spelling and grammar of her former Strictly partner&#8217;s book when he sent it to her just to see what she thought<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>\u00a0The mother of tennis aces Andy and Jamie admits she is a \u2018grammar geek\u2019 and couldn\u2019t resist getting the red pen out for the manuscript<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>Reveals Wimbledon hero Sir Andy thought she would be \u2018rubbish\u2019 on the hit dance show\u00a0<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>When Anton du Beke sent the first draft of his novel to former Strictly partner Judy Murray he might have expected kind words, a well done, and maybe some suggestions.<\/p>\n<p>But instead the dancing ace received a manuscript which was covered in red pen pointing out spelling errors, grammatical corrections and parts she just didn\u2019t think worked.<\/p>\n<p>The coach, mother to tennis stars Sir Andy and Jamie Murray, was partnered with the professional dancer in 2014\u2019s Strictly Come Dancing but crashed out in week eight.<\/p>\n<p>Now the 64-year-old revealed at the Wigtown Book Festival, in Wigtownshire, she helped save the Strictly star from potential embarrassment in one of his ballroom-inspired novels.<\/p>\n<p>Ms Murray, who has just released her first fiction book The Wild Card, said: \u2018He sent me a proof copy of it before it came out. He says: \u201cPartner\u201d, that\u2019s what he always calls me which I absolutely love, \u201cPartner, have a read of this and tell me what you think\u201d.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/i.dailymail.co.uk\/1s\/2023\/09\/24\/13\/75779273-12554899-image-m-2_1695558195737.jpg\" height=\"973\" width=\"634\"><\/p>\n<p>Judy Murray and\u00a0Anton du Beke struck up a friendship on Strictly Come\u00a0 Dancing<\/p>\n<p>\u2018And, of course during Covid, like everybody else, I wasn\u2019t doing very much. I love to read, I\u2019m a spelling geek, I\u2019m a grammar geek, I\u2019m a vocabulary geek. He didn\u2019t know any of that.<\/p>\n<p>\u2018So I read his book and I\u2019m going through it with a red pen and turning down the pages and I send it back to him.<\/p>\n<p>\u2018And so he phones me up and he goes: \u201cI just got my book back. Why couldn\u2019t you just have said: Well done Anton, that was great?\u201d\u2019<\/p>\n<p>Ms Murray already had one book to her name, autobiography Knowing the Score: My Family and Our Tennis Story, and she told the annual book festival it was du Beke who said she should write a novel.<\/p>\n<p>It led to her penning The WIld Card, her debut thriller based around lead character Abigail Petterson who put her tennis career on hold to have her son.<\/p>\n<p>That is until a wild card entry to Wimbledon sees her swept up in a world she thought she had left behind.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/i.dailymail.co.uk\/1s\/2023\/09\/24\/13\/75779275-12554899-image-m-5_1695558220099.jpg\" height=\"675\" width=\"634\"><\/p>\n<p>Judy and Anton crashed out of Strictly in week 8 in 2014<\/p>\n<p>With the latest series of Strictly having just started, and 57-year-old du Beke now serving as a judge, Ms Murray revealed the moment she told her sons her intention to go onto the prime-time programme.<\/p>\n<p>\u2018I took the easy options first and I asked Jamie. I said \u201cJamie I have been asked to do Strictly and I can\u2019t stop smiling.\u201d and he\u2019s going \u201cmum you love Strictly are you going to do it?\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u2018And I went, \u201cwell, what do you think?\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u2018He went \u201cYou love it, you love Strictly, you should do it. You\u2019ll have a great time\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>\u2018So then I went to Andy and he did the ten second stare, and I thought this is not going to be so easy. And I waited for him to speak, and he went \u201cOh my God.
