Get the biggest stories and wackiest takes from the Daily Star, including our special WTF Wednesday email<\/p>\n<p>We have more newsletters<\/p>\n<p>A horror plane crash in Brazil has killed all 14 people on board, according to local reports.<\/p>\n<p>It is understood the aircraft, believed to be an Embraer EMB-110P1, was transporting tourists from the US to the Barcelos region in Amazonas when it was downed in the afternoon local time today (Saturday, September 16).<\/p>\n<p>A spokesperson for Barcelos city hall said 12 passengers were killed, as well as the pilot and co-pilot.<\/p>\n<p><b>READ MORE: Body found in Ukraine search for missing Brit ex-paratrooper and aid worker<\/b><\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile the governor of Amazonas, Wilson Lima, said the plane took off from Manaus bound for Marcelos, about 400km away from the crash site.<\/p>\n<p>The secretary of the Civil Defense of Amazonas issued a statement confirming the tragedy and said a response team has been dispatched to the scene.<\/p>\n<p>Footage taken at the crash site shows the plane smashed up as responders observe the scene.<\/p>\n<p>Posting the clip to X, a Brazilian news outlet wrote: &quot;Visual recording of an air accident reported recently in the municipality of Barcelos, in Amazonas, involving a private EMBRAER EMB-110P1 aircraft (registration PT-SOG) that belonged to an air taxi company.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/i2-prod.mirror.co.uk\/incoming\/article30959896.ece\/ALTERNATES\/s615b\/0_r2JPG.jpg\"><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\n<figure data-mod=\"image\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/i2-prod.mirror.co.uk\/incoming\/article30957720.ece\/ALTERNATES\/s458\/0_WIRE-Boy-lucky-to-be-here-after-being-impaled-on-spike-following-pillar-fall.jpg\"><\/figure>\n<p> Blood-covered boy &apos;lucky to be here&apos; after being impaled by fence spike in horror fall<img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/s2-prod.mirror.co.uk\/@trinitymirrordigital\/chameleon-branding\/publications\/dailystar\/img\/logo-schema-dailystar.png\"><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&quot;The accident reportedly left 14 people dead, including crew and passengers (locally speaking of American tourists).&quot;<\/p>\n<p>The area where the plane crashed is a popular holiday hotspot, particularly with tourists who are keen on fishing.<\/p>\n<p>However the weather conditions were not ideal for flying and it is thought the pilot may have made a mistake when laying out the landing strip, portalt5.com reported.<\/p>\n<p>The victims&apos; bodies have been removed from the scene and are being taken to an auditorium at a local school.
