Others argue that it could &#8216;stimulate the spread of populism and ultra-nationalism&#8217; and &#8216;intensify oppositional sentiments&#8217;.<\/p>\n<p>There has been a growing anti-Japanese\u00a0sentiment throughout China\u00a0in recent years under the leadership of President\u00a0Xi Jinping. His rule has also seen an increase in nationalism.<\/p>\n<p>Police have previously temporarily detained people in China for wearing clothing that was reportedly &#8216;linked too closely&#8217; to Japan.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/i.dailymail.co.uk\/1s\/2023\/09\/08\/00\/75190243-12494065-image-a-40_1694127885829.jpg\" height=\"423\" width=\"634\"><\/p>\n<p>The Chinese government has proposed a new law that would allow police to detain people for wearing the &#8216;wrong clothes&#8217;. Mr Xi&#8217;s rule has also seen an increase in nationalism<\/p>\n<p>A woman wearing clothing from the Tag dynasty was evicted from archaeological Park in Wuhan on Thursday after staff mistakenly thought her outfit was from Japan. The newspaper claims she was removed thrice.<\/p>\n<p>It came after a woman was detained for several hours last year in\u00a0Southeastern Suzhou for wearing a Japanese kimono and taking photos in the street.<\/p>\n<p>Legal experts familiar with the proposal claim the legislation lacks &#8216;clear definition&#8217;
