World’s most beautiful McDonald’s with chandeliers and stained glass windows
Let’s face it – McDonald’s restaurants aren’t best known for their architectural beauty or beautiful decor.
Unless that is if it’s located in Porto, Portugal – home to the ‘world’s most beautiful McDonald’s’.
Once over this stunning building housed a rather different kind of establishment – a well known restaurant called the Imperial Cafe which was loved by locals.
But in 1995 it was taken over by the fast food chain which has meant that the fabulous property hasn’t fallen into rack and ruin.
Loco Porto is a city guide for tourists which explains more about the now famous McDonald’s branch.

“I remember coming here when I was a child and this was the Imperial Café, an emblematic historic building from the 30s, just by Aliados Avenue, which was frankly in need for a restoration.”
