Toddler snatched from grandmother and bundled into car in terrifying incident
An urgent search was launched after a two-year-old boy was snatched from a street in Australia before he was found nine hours later – 186 miles away.
An amber alert was issued by New South Wales Police after Jax Kossen-Wilson was taken from his grandmother in Coffs Harbour just after 2pm on Friday local time.
He was snatched by a woman and a man driving a black Volkswagen Golf who used the vehicle to drive him away from the scene. Police said the man and woman were known to the toddler.
An amber alert is typically issued in time-critical situations after the abduction of a child under 18 years of age, according to police in Australia.
Police will reasonably suspect there is an “imminent risk of death or serious harm” to the person.

He was finally tracked down with the couple 186 miles away in Tenterfield, close to the NSW-Queensland border in the Granite Belt region, at 11.30pm on Friday night.
After he was found safe and well, police said a 35-year-old woman and 37-year-old man were both being held in custody. The pair had allegedly assaulted his grandmother while abducting the toddler.
Before they managed to trace the youngster, police said the couple and Jax could have also been in a white van while travelling in the Inverell and Tenterfield region
The amber alert was broadcast every 15 minutes while the manhunt was ongoing.
