Fresh from announcing that he's planning to blast himself and his brother into space, the Daily Star takes a look at what Amazon chief Jeff Bezos splashes his cash on…

When you are the world's richest man, worth an eye-watering $182billion, getting on the housing ladder isn't really an issue.

Bezos is the 28th biggest landowner in the whole of America and own 420,000 acres, much it in Texas.

Among his countless homes are two massive mansions near Seattle (where neighbours include Bill Gates), which set him back a reported $63million.

Despite buying a massive mansion in Beverley Hills in 2007 for $25million, he later decided it wasn't big enough and also bought the one next door for $13million.

Just recently, he also purchased the nearby Warner Estate for $165million – the costliest house purchase ever in Los Angeles.

Built in the 1930s for Jack Warner, the former president of the Warner Bros film studio, it has terraces, guest houses, a tennis court, and its own golf course.

He also recently snapped up a plot of undeveloped land in Los Angeles for $90 million.

After enjoying summers as a child at his grandparents ranch in Texas, he also bought a ranch there with 30,000 acres.

For when he needs to be in the centre of Washington, he recently snapped up the 27,000 square foot Washington Textile Museum for $23million so he could convert it into a house, which is said to be costing another $12million.

Worried that a property across the street has direct views into his new home, it is claimed he also purchased that for just under $5million. Neighbours include the Obama's who own a $5.3million home nearby, and Ivanka Trump and Jared Kushner have also moved into the area.

After his recent divorce – which reportedly cost him $38billion – to get a taste of the Big Apple, Bezos bought three adjacent apartments to knock together a super flat for around $80million, and then decided it still wasn't big enough so forked our $16m for a fourth.

The property boasts a sprawling, 5,000-square-foot rooftop terrace complete with a pool and at least a half-dozen bedrooms.

While in space, Jeff might even be able to see his yacht, it's certainly big enough. It has been reported he is building a $500million 417-foot superyacht which is so big it even has its own support yacht and comes complete with a helicopter pad.

He also owns a $65 million Gulfstream G-650ER private jet – one of the fastest jets in the world.

In 2017 he also bought the Whole Foods grocery chain – which cost a mouthwatering $13.7billion – where Amazon customers can now order home deliveries from.

While running the world's biggest internet company and planning his space trip, it is hard to imagine Jeff has too much free time on his hands.

He is also the owner of the Washington Post newspaper group.

But the billionaire has also shown he has a heart, making countless huge charity donations includes pledges of $10billion to combat climate change and $2billion to help the homeless.
