RTD A Line schedule: Strong winds Wednesday prompt less trains

If you are heading to Denver International Airport on Wednesday, your flight will not be the only thing impacted by strong winds.

Forecasted 80 mph gusts in Denver pushed the Regional Transportation District (RTD) to change their service. The University of Colorado A Line train that runs to DIA will only run on a 30-minute frequency and RTD says customers should expect delays.

RTD will also take down some gate-crossing arms at grade crossings for Wednesday along the A and G Lines. Crossing guards and horns will replace the routine junction procedures in the following spots:

University of Colorado A Line:

  • Dahlia Street
  • Holly Street
  • Ulster Street
  • Sable Boulevard

G Line:

  • Miller Street
  • Tennyson Street

The National Weather Service has issued a High Wind Warning for most of the eastern parts of Colorado that is in effect from 8 a.m. until 5 p.m. West winds of 30 to 50 mph with gusts reaching 60 to 80 mph are possible. The damaging winds can cause a bunch of issues from downed power lines to flying debris.
