A Queens man was shot as he answered his front door early Saturday — the only shooting overnight in the five boroughs, cops said.
The victim, 31, was taken to North Shore-LIJ Hospital in stable condition, authorities said.
The shooting occurred at 5:20 a.m. on the first floor of 98-38 212th Street, a two-family brick building in Queens Village.
The victim was in his apartment sleeping when he “hears a loud noise, goes to the door, which was forced open and he’s shot in the right shoulder,” an NYPD spokesman said, adding, “Was this a robbery or burglary gone sideways? Is this a guy he knows or doesn’t know? To be determined.”
Police said there was no description of the shooter and nothing was taken.
The gunfire comes on the heels of Friday morning’s bloodshed, where one person was killed and two others injured in a triple shooting outside a Queens hotel, marking the first homicide of 2021, cops said.
