Power outage forces RTD to divert R Line train to shuttle buses

Regional Transportation District officials were routing commuters from R Line trains to shuttle buses Friday morning due to a power outage as rain continues to batter the Front Range.

RTD officials reported the diversions at 6:11 a.m. in a Twitter post.

“RTD does not know the cause of the outage,” agency spokesman Austin Nettleton said.

“As far as buses go, there aren’t any delays associated with the flooding,” Nettleton added, advising commuters nevertheless to check for “service alerts” at the agency’s online site (www.rtd-denver.com)

An Xcel Energy power outage online site listed 24 outages around Colorado (17 in metro Denver) Friday morning, affecting 1,138 customers.
