A team of Russian saboteurs were forced to flee in panic after coming fire from Ukrainian border guards.

The saboteurs were trying to cross into Ukraine’s northeastern Sumy region from Russia on Friday to carry out operations behind enemy lines.

Dmytro Zhyvytskyi, head of the Sumy region, said: “Yesterday, around 5 o’clock in the morning, a group of 6 people tried to move from the territory of the Russian Federation to the Yunakiv municipality.

“Our soldiers opened fire, and the enemy ran away.”

Russia was forced out of the region during a Ukrainian counteroffensive in April 2022.

Ever since, Putin’s army has shelled Ukrainian villages near the border in the region on a daily basis.
