A convicted paedophile has been jailed for two years and four months after filming himself performing a disgusting sex act – on a dog.
Sam O'Connell has also been placed on the sex offenders register for 10 years.
The 19-year-old admitted having “sexual interest” in horses and downloaded more than 6,400 images, some of which showed children as young as two being raped.
And police searched his iPhone, which was discovered to have “extreme pornographic” images of him “performing” the act on a dog, York Crown Court was told this week.
He also kept “paedophile manuals” which detailed how to attract, sexually abuse and “hide” children.
Prosecutor John Holby said that earlier this year, he told his psychologist that he was a paedophile and had tried “unsuccessfully” to have sex with an animal.
As psychologists do, this was reported to the police, which then led to a search of his home.
Around 48 devices were found, as well as the chastity belt.
Mr Holby said: “He told the psychologist he had a sexual interest in animals.
“He said he had gone to the beach and unsuccessfully tried to film children and also viewed child pornography.
“He said he wore a chastity belt to prevent himself from abusing children.”
O'Connell then confessed to police that he had been downloading “thousands” of indecent images of children, and that he “fantasied about having sexual intercourse with children”.
He also, shockingly, admitted to thinking about sex with children whenever he was around them.

Police also found messages between O’Connell and another man.
The man had a video of O'Connell performing sex acts on a dog, which he sent to him.
Mr Holby added: “There were references to past and future sex with dogs and horses by both men.”
He has been charged with 10 offences, including making indecent images of children, possessing extreme pornography or bestiality, possessing the three “paedophile manuals” and prohibited or cartoon images of children.
Judge Timothy Clayson said: “You explained to the authorities that your interest focused particularly on very young children.
“From some of the devices police recovered three paedophile manuals which are serious matters indeed.”
