After eight years at CBS4 in Denver, anchor and reporter Britt Moreno is leaving the TV station.
Moreno announced the move in a Facebook post from inside her car with her young child in a car seat beside her. Moreno and her husband have put their Colorado house up for sale, she said.
“We feel like it is time to move and be closer to family,” Moreno said.
An early morning and noontime anchor, Moreno was the 2019 Heartland Emmy winner for best news anchor.
Her work at Channel 4 includes the “Wednesday’s Child” segments, a weekly spot in which she introduces children in foster care in pursuit of a permanent family.
Along with an Emmy, Moreno received the 2017 Colorado Broadcasters Association Award of Excellence for her “Aging Out” series, reporting on children who age out of the foster care system.
Moreno joined CBS4 in March 2013 after reporting and anchoring in Phoenix. A Texas native, Moreno attended Trinity University in San Antonio, where she double majored in communication and Spanish.
“You all as a community have given me so much here,” she said in the Facebook post. “This is my last week here at CBS4.”
Moreno said more details about her departure will be available soon.
