Mum furious after ‘shouting’ Uber Eats driver ‘helps himself’ to Starbucks order

A mum has raged on Facebook over an Uber Eats driver twice tucking into her takeaways.

Furious Tiffany Thomas has complained to the delivery giant that her orders keep arriving part-eaten with finger marks smeared over the contents.

Tampered with food has not been the only issue with a particular driver who Tiffany claims dumps her food at the bottom of the stairs to her flat.

The mum from Dalkeith, Scotland says she has told the driver she cannot leave her baby to collect the food, but he refuses to budge and bellows at her to come and collect it.

Tiffany posted on Facebook: "Not one to usually do this but be careful when you're ordering Uber Eats as this man opened my food twice before and now picked up my order and refused to take it up the stairs of the flat meaning I need to leave my seven-month old baby alone.

"I showed Uber Eats and they redelivered the food but the exact same thing happened."

The mum revealed to Edinburgh Live that on one occasion, the driver had actually taken a bite of her food and shouted at her to come down to collect the order instead of bringing it to the flat.

Tiffany, who lives with her seven-month-old baby, added: "He stands at the bottom of the flat and shouts at me to come down and when I tell him no because I have my daughter in the flat, he just delivers it across the road and drives off, he's done it twice now.

"He also phones me and shouts down the phone at me." She said she has never had any problems with the company apart from this one driver and has voiced her frustration at the company in the past about the individual.

Tiffany told how on one occasion, Uber Eats offered a full refund for one of her orders and said she can also contact the restaurant directly to raise a complaint.

The company have now confirmed that they are looking into these claims.

A spokesperson for Uber Eats said: "Food hygiene is extremely important and all couriers working with Uber Eats are expected to follow strict community guidelines on delivering orders safely.

"We are currently investigating this report. Couriers found to have breached our guidelines may be removed from the Uber Eats platform.".
