A man who has been living off a primeval diet says that he has never felt better after eating raw chicken and other meats.
Weston Rowe, 39, from Nebraska in the US, has been avidly following a raw meat-based diet for three years and says he has no plans to stop.
"I am in better health both physically and mentally, better than I've ever been in my life," he said.
He claims that the bizarre health plan has boosted his energy levels despite the warnings that have been issued surrounding raw chicken and the possibility of salmonella.
"I have eaten hundreds of pounds of raw chicken and I have never even gotten close to being sick," he said.
His unconventional diet consists of eating locally sourced food that is high in proteins such as beef, liver, chicken, and other animal organs.
"I would say at this time I eat 99% farm-fresh raw meat and have never once been sick or unwell from my diet," he said.
"I get all of my meat and raw dairy products from local suppliers and friends who keep livestock, and I grow my own fruit in my garden."
Weston said he first decided to try the raw meat-based diet after he started to experience brain fog and had developed eczema.

Now, he refuses to eat processed foods and spends around $140 (£103.94) on his food a week, which he feels is a manageable amount of money.
"The way I see it, it is a fair amount to pay to eat the best and most nutritious food in the world and actually equates to a similar amount I used to spend on junk food," he added.
A typical day of eating for Wes usually consists of two to three meals a deal without snacking and occasionally he has homemade ice cream for dessert.
He said: "Sometimes I skip breakfast, but when I'm hungry I normally have three or four raw eggs and a piece of fruit, which is one of the rare things I eat that isn't meat-based.

"Lunch is typically my largest meal of the day, and I usually enjoy 1lb of raw meat with 1/5 pound of raw unsalted butter, with three or four raw eggs and a piece of fruit again.
"For dinner, I usually eat the same thing but occasionally with a cooked potato, which is probably the only real thing I eat these days that is cooked."
Weston doesn't like to cook with seasoning and says some of his favourite meats include raw beef with butter, chicken liver and sheep brains.
"I have always been quite a plain eater, so I avoid adding anything to compromise the flavour of my meat," he said.

But despite the controversy behind the extreme diet, Weston says his family and friends are still supportive.
He said: "Everyone around me is really accepting of my eating habits and is always super interested when they first learn it.
"At home it's just myself and my two dogs Osirus and Gaea, so it has been easy to adopt in to this routine."
