A sicko hacked off his victim’s head and started playing football with in the street, he told police.
A blood-soaked Joel Arciniega-Saenz explained to investigators he launched the savage attack as revenge for his victim allegedly raping his wife.
The headless body of James Garcia, 51, was found by police with multiple stab wounds at Apodaca Park in Las Cruces, New Mexico on Sunday.
According to local news channel KFOX14, officers the killer’s shoes were covered in blood when they arrive at the gruesome scene following a call to the park, reporting a body in the roadway.
Joel Arciniega-Saenz has allegedly admitted to police how he decapitated the victim, court documents show.
Court documents from the police allege Arciniega-Saenz was found still at the park with dried blood on his hands and a bloody knife in his possession.
While police investigators were reviewing the crime scene they also found Garcia's middle finger.
Police investigators found a shoe print near a pool of blood at the park where the victim's finger was also found, stated the court document.
During the interrogation at the Las Cruces Police Department, Arciniega-Saenz told investigators that he was homeless and slept at Apodaca Park.
Fox reports Arciniega-Saenz then allegedly told investigators Garcia had raped his wife four years ago, but he refused to give police details of the apparent woman to confirm this claim.
They said he then described to police investigators what led to the killing.
Arciniega-Saenz said he, his wife and Garcia had been hanging out four days prior to the killing.
The court document state Arciniega-Saenz told police the three of them had fallen asleep.

He said when he and his wife woke up, Garcia was gone with their belongings so Arciniega-Saenz tracked the man to Apodaca Park and confront him.
During that altercation, Arciniega-Saenz told investigators he took a knife from Garcia and stabbed him several times and finally cut his head off.
He then told investigators that he dragged Garcia's body to the street and began kicking his head around.
Arciniega-Saenz is being held at the Dona Ana County Detention Center on a murder charge.
KFOX14 has learned that Arciniega-Saenz has a criminal history in Las Cruces and had recently been released on $2,000 bail for allegedly causing criminal damage to a local coffee shop.
District Court Judge Wingenroth agreed to releasing him after he “didn’t find him dangerous”.
The investigation continues into the beheading murder.
