Horror video shows Brit hero battling Hamas terrorists as he threw back seven grenades before the eighth killed him | The Sun

HORRIFIC footage shows a heroic British-Israeli soldier fighting Hamas as he bravely throws back the grenades they attack him with.

Aner Shapiro, 22, died in the brutal October 7 HamasĀ music festival massacre, as he protected partygoers and caught seven deadly explosives with his bare hands.

His mother told Kan News that Shapiro stood by the entrance of a bomb shelter where around 30 festival goers were hiding from the attack – tossing the grenades back outside.

ā€œHe stood at the entrance, and threw the grenades out and he managed to save so many people,ā€ she said.

Chilling video shows Hamas gunmen swarming the shelter and tossing explosives in repeatedly for several minutes.

The same grenades can be seen being tossed back out, some exploding mere metres from the shelter's entrance.

ā€œShapiro eventually died of wounds sustained while holding off the terrorists, as he fought to save the lives of his fellow party-goers,ā€ South First Responders said on Tuesday.

ā€œSome of those he shielded survived the shelter attack to tell his heroic story,ā€ the group added.

His heartbroken grandmother, Yamima Ben-Menahem spoke to Sky News about the loss of her brave grandson who sacrificed himself to save dozens of lives.

She explained that Aner and his friend, who is feared to have beenĀ taken hostage by HamasĀ militants, were trying to escape the Supernova festival as alarms sounded and missiles hurtled towards them from the sky.

The pair allegedly fled to a shelter, where they were met with the terrified faces of around 30 other festival goers.

"First of all he calmed them down, he said the army was only half an hour away and he was sure that everything was going to be okay," said the devastated grandmother.

"Everybody was grateful he took leadership, he was a natural leader wherever he was," she added.

When armedĀ Hamas gunmenĀ approached the shelter, Yamima explained how courageous Amer put himself in the firing line, blocking the entrance to the crowded hideaway.

She said: "When they [Hamas] started throwing grenades into the shelter, he said 'I'm going to throw them back and if I miss one you do the rest of the work''."

"He stood there and threw back one grenade after the other.

"From what his friends told us he managed to throw back about seven grenades, and then the last one exploded in his hands.

"The people who survived started calling us after they found out who his family was and one after the other said ā€˜he saved our livesā€™."

Shapiro was the great-grandson of Haim Moshe Shapiro, a minister who signed Israelā€™s Declaration of Independence.

The Nova music festival was theĀ first target of the Hamas terroristsĀ as they paraglided across the border andĀ unleashed terror on unsuspecting revellers.
