Golden retriever puppy gets new toy pig – but is terrified by the sound it makes

A golden retriever puppy has left viewers in stitches with his adorable reaction to a new toy.

Hero, an eight-week-old pup, lives in Albuquerque, New Mexico, US with his owner Felicia and recently was given a present of a new toy pig.

But, in a hilarious clip Felicia shared to a Facebook page dedicated to golden retrievers, it was clear the pooch wasn't quite sure what to make of it.

"Someone got a new toy and doesn’t know how he feels about the noise it makes," Felicia wrote.

Hero takes a quick sniff on the orange toy and picks it up by his mouth before realising the squishy toy makes a strange "oink".

The tiny pooch jumps backwards in an alert position – raising his tail and lowering his head.

His ears are flopping in the air when he jumps back and forth around the toy.

The playful pet decides to strike again as he makes a growling noise then barks at the pig.

Felicia told Daily Star that Hero's reaction left her cackling.

She said: "He has played with small, squeaky toys before but this pig [toy] made a different sound than the ones he's used to.

"At the beginning he was scared of it but later started to warm up to it and now he loves it."

The pet lover said Hero enjoys playing with the toy but he also loves tennis balls.

"He will chase a tennis ball for hours," Felicia added.

Dog lovers were in hysterics while watching the video, and many commented that they have the same toy for their pets.
