The child was waiting to cross the street with his father at the intersection of Ocean Avenue and Parkside Avenue in Prospect Lefferts Gardens at 10:30 p.m. when the little boy ran ahead and was struck by driver behind the wheel of Toyota Rav 4, police said.

The tot was taken to Kings County Hospital along with his 39-year-old father, who suffered minor injuries in the accident, according to the NYPD.

The young victim’s condition has since been downgraded to serious, and he was moved to Bellevue Hospital in Manhattan, officials said.
