An Instagram post shared by Delfina Blaquier, the wife of Prince Harry ’s polo teammate Nacho Figueras, has left some royal watchers cringing despite offering an insight into Meghan Markle’s personal life.

Since relocating to California, Harry has once again taken up polo, and even recently took a tumble off his horse as he familiarised himself with the reigns.

The Duchess of Sussex has been spotted watching the prince play in her spare time, and appears to have struck up a friendship with Delfine Blaquier, who shared a picture of the two together with her 153,000 followers on Instagram.

The post’s caption read: “Getting to spent time together over these 2 months was so special. I wish everyone new (sic) you the way you are.

“My sister, my now fellow ‘pwife’ (polo wife) – genius of you to come up with this. Can’t wait to see you again, to share thrill, hikes, and just more chill time.”

The Argentinian photographer also told the ex-royal that she has a “beautiful” heart, and suggested that the picture was the only one taken of them together while watching their husbands play polo.

And, reacting to the post on an episode of the Royally Obsessed podcast, royal fans Rachel Bowie and Robera Fiorito were left with mixed feelings about the insight into Meghan’s personal relationships.

“It’s fascinating to me how this might all work,” Rachel observed, acknowledging that there is reportedly a strict policy among the Sussexes’ team about what personal content is shared about the couple.

“Do you do this with your friends sometimes, where you might text and be like, ‘are you okay if I post something about today?’ I’m curious if that played out between Delfina and Meghan because we don’t get these very personal glimpses into Meghan anymore,” she added.

The podcast’s co-host Roberta, however, wasn’t as fond of the overly-friendly language used by Delfina in the picture’s caption.

“My first gut reaction though – and I don’t mean this to be mean – is that the earnestness was at a level of almost cringe. It was a little cringy to be like, ‘my p-wife’, it was high school almost," she said.

But, despite these feelings, the royal lover confessed that she had decided to “embrace” the cringeworthy elements of the Instagram post.

“It was so sweet, and you’re right, we don’t get glimpses that often, it’s fun to have this peek behind what Meghan’s really like around the people she loves," she added.

“It seems like this is a really genuine friendship, and also someone who’s not afraid to talk about the things she wants to talk about and share it.”

Before the Sussexes officially left royal duties, they announced the closure of their ‘SussexRoyal’ instagram account, and have since only shared a select number of private photos about their private life.

As a result, the exposure of the laid-back snap while watching Harry’s polo match led Rachel to ask whether Delfine had received her friend’s approval before sharing.

“That’s why I’m curious, did she get sign off? The information is so guarded with the Sussexes that she had to have [done],” she suggested.
