Cats are fascinated with Christmas trees and can't seem to hold back from climbing, clawing, and chewing them in a hilarious montage of videos on TikTok is anything to judge by.
In funny clips found by Daily Star, cheeky felines help their owners get into – or perhaps out of – the Christmas spirit by doing everything in their power to bring the fir trees down.
Cats sometimes seem fascinated by the dangling baubles or string-like decorations and in other clips just seem to want to use the trees as indoor climbing frames.
Whatever their motives, it's definitely impossible to be bored in the holiday season with a zany cat creating havoc.
Tree nearly topples thanks to cat
In a hilarious TikTok video, playable at the top, a cat goes on a wild mission up a half-assembled Christmas tree while it sways dangerously.
Oblivious to the danger, the cat claws its way up the plastic branches while its owner films and laughs at the feline's antics.
Wild-eyed, the tabby and white cat keeps climbing and then leaps off back to the ground back when she runs out of tree – making it shake even more violently.
TikTok user @ambblahh joked in the caption: "I basically put the tree up for her."
It was "liked" more than 21,000 times on the video-sharing app and cat lovers flooded the comments section with puns.

Cat plummets to ground after trying to climb tree
An adorable cat appeared to be mesmerised by the shiny baubles dangling from her family's Christmas tree and tried to get to the top – only to be filmed crashing down.

Unable to resist the treats higher up the tree, she manages to climb up halfway.

Another cat then jumps onto the sofa, apparently to watch the chaos unfold.
Unfortunately, the tree-climbing cat's luck runs out and she crashes to the floor after losing her grip.
The video was uploaded with the hashtag #catsvschristmas and the caption: "Karen thank you so much!"
It has since been "liked" more than 55,000 times and left viewers in stitches, with dozens of fans leaving laughing emojis.

Another heartwarming clip shows a ginger kitten playing in a Christmas tree – and she's so pint-sized she almost looks like a decoration herself.
The excited young cat is nestled between the branches as she plays with any decoration she can get her mitts on, endlessly fascinated by the festive fir.
As the camera zooms in, she aims a paw playfully at a Christmas stocking before hiding back in the branches.

In the clip, the ginger feline starts chewing on one of the plastic branches.
She then lunges forwards, tipping the tree backward precariously.
