COPS are investigating the "unexplained deaths" of an elderly couple found at a house in Warwickshire.
The bodies of the man and woman, both aged in their 80s, were discovered yesterday in Nuneaton.
Police have now launched an investigation and say there are no "obvious signs" or suspicious behaviour.
But they confirmed the deaths are being treated as unexplained and are keeping an "open mind".
Fire crews were scrambled to the home but there are signs of carbon monoxide poisoning.
A post mortem will be carried out in due course to establish a cause of death.
Detective Inspector Carl Buckley from Nuneaton Serious and Complex Crime Team said: “This is a tragic incident and our thoughts are with the family of the couple.
"There will be a high police presence in the area today as we work to piece together what has happened.
"I’d urge anyone who saw the couple in the last few days or has any information that could help us to get in touch.”
Anyone with information can call Warwickshire Police on 101 quoting incident 235 of November 15 or ring Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
