TokenStars 2020: launching new opportunities for fans and rising players

It’s been 3 years since the TokenStars project was launched, and today it is a platform that really works! It helps raising funds for the beginner sportsmen and connects them with the fans. Today the platform unites over 50 sports PROs and rising stars with thousands of fans.

Many young sportsmen are short of finance, required to move on to professional sports: running out of their own funds, they often fail to be in focus of conventional sports agents who may overlook the future talent. TokenStars wants this to change, so a pioneering talent management platform was created which uses the blockchain technology and is, in fact, a next generation of sports agencies. The platform includes 10 modules (scouting, voting, fans club, auctions etc) – сombining these modules makes it possible to build different levels of interaction between fans, players and sports industry professionals.

TokenStars’s unique advantage is the model of rising players’ scouting. The platform can be used by youth coaches, parents and fans worldwide, who are offered an opportunity to become ‘scouts’ helping kids build their sports career and applying for financial support. If fans and scouts demonstrate active efforts in finding the rising sports stars, they get their award.

To sign a contract with TokenStars, junior players have to pass several qualification stages, including the community voting stage, where token holders can decide if a particular player should be contracted or not. Thus, the fans actually play a role of experts, like the ones at the sports agencies.

“Since launching the Talent module for backing prospective  juniors, we have received applications for financial support  from more than 50 youth tennis players,- Philipp Tsagolov, TokenStars CEO, says,-  All those juniors already have experience in international competitions and rank among the top 400 payers in ITF Juniors Rankings. We relied on the analytical data and expertise of professional coaches, as well as on the opinion of our community members, to select the most promising athletes, including those in other sports – in late 2020 TokenStars signed talent support contracts with 15 players, some of them have already started participating in professional competitions”.

Another core TokenStars’ business area is creating a platform for the interaction of fans and sports stars. In particular, fans may become ‘promoters’ to be able to participate in growing the media recognition of  the players. Promoters have some tasks – for example, to make social media pics, and get awarded for their active contribution. The promoters work to attract more audience and increase the media popularity of the players, which is also a way to earn more advertising contracts. For example, a tennis player Veronika Kudermetova, who was one of the first athletes to join TokenStars, already had experience of cooperation with such brands as Siberian Wellness and Confael.

Not only tennis players, but also other sportsmen are partners of the platform, among them are football players and poker PROs. For example, TokenStars helps to improve the fan engagement  of such football celebrities as João Klauss, Aleksey Sutormin, Otavio Monteira, Sergey Kornilenko and others.

Besides doing some promotional tasks, fans can use the platform to get access to unique experiences offered by stars, like exclusive training sessions with the favorite player purchasing some rare items offered by the sportsmen.

“When we were launching the TokenStars, together with the project founders we did want to make a platform, enabling communications and engagement between the stars and sports fans. – Pavel Stukolov, TokenStars ex-CEO says, – I’m really happy that the project team is working on the development of the platform, so the fans have access to unparalleled experiences and can provide career support to the promising junior players”.

TokenStars fans have already had a chance to host a number of exciting events, since the project was launched. Among these events were video-chats with the football players, a series of professional workshops with the best poker PROs, some competitions and games with one of the best Russia’s tennis players – Veronika Kudermetova, and authentic gaming accessories with the signatures of the sports stars.

“2020 was a tough challenge, but we discovered a number of new opportunities, – Philipp Tsagolov, TokenStars CEO, says, – We see the new growth vectors for TokenStars both in supporting the rising players, and in enabling engagement between the fans and the sports stars. We are planning to grow further, to implement the plan provided for in our strategy – to extend our portfolio of activities in sports, attract more sportsmen with experience and ambitions, more fans and to make the best use of the new breakthrough opportunities next year”.
