Malaysia cashing in on chips as Covid-19 drives global shortage

BAYAN LEPAS (PENANG) – UWC Berhad was among the handful of companies in essential sectors allowed to stay open when Malaysia imposed Covid-19 curbs in March last year.

The firm put in place all the necessary standard operating procedures (SOP) to keep its plant going, but the test equipment maker for electronics and medical technology hit a unique production hurdle.
