A man who helped foil a neo-Nazi plot to murder an MP has been told his life is in danger.
Jack Renshaw, 23, will be sentenced next month for planning to kill Labour ’s Rosie Cooper with a 19inch knife.
But Robbie Mullen, 25, who leaked details of the plot to Hope Not Hate , is living in fear after police intelligence revealed he is a target for reprisals.
He said: “The police have offered me witness protection after each death threat but each time I’ve turned it down because I want the option to go back home.
“They would have made me start again, changed my name.”
White supremacist Renshaw, from Skelmersdale, Lancs, was being investigated for child sex offences when he decided to kill both the MP and a police officer.
He hoped he would die in a hail of police bullets and escape a prison sentence.
When he revealed details of his plot to members of the banned far right group National Action in July 2017, Mr Mullen blew the whistle and police were informed.
Last summer, Renshaw admitted preparation for a terrorist act by purchasing a machete to kill Ms Cooper making a threat to kill Det Con Victoria Henderson.
Earlier this month Mr Mullen, a former member of National Action, told the Mirror: “Jack had a grudge against the police officer because she was investigating him.
“He didn’t really have a clue who the MP Rosie Cooper was.
“He was going to kill them, then planned to die by ‘suicide by cop’.
“Someone was going to get killed. I knew I couldn’t let it happen.”
